February 2014 Newsletter Update
Jared's February 2014 Newsletter
Greetings again from Vajta, Hungary!
It is hard to believe it has already been almost 2 months since my last update and nearly a month since getting back to Hungary! I had a great visit with the family and church back in Oregon and got a chance to visit some of my extended family as well while I was stateside. I am looking forward expectantly to what the Lord has in store for the coming year!

I went to Oregon to visit with my parents from mid December until mid January. I had a great time visiting with them and helping them around the house as there is quite a lot of practical work that still needs to be done on the house and property. I was also able to have a few good visits with my sister and her husband and to see my grandma to celebrate her birthday. I also got a chance to drive down to central California with my dad and visit my grandparents and one of my aunts and a cousin. Being away from family is one of the hard parts of living out of the country so it is always a great blessing to be able to come home for visits and I am so thankful that the Lord has provided for me to make it home on usually a yearly basis.

It was also very good to be able to reconnect with my church family back home at CC Corvallis. I also had more opportunities this year to get to know more people at the Calvary Chapel in Lebanon, Oregon where my parents go to church now. I was able to help out with setup at church on a few occasions and had some grerat fellowship and chances to hang out with the Sunday morning service setup crew.

The last month back has been pretty busy but I have been able to get a lot of work done. Not long after getting back we hosted the annual all Hungary Calvary Chapel women's conference. I was mainly doing video recording and editing the videos to post them on the web. The school semester is back in full swing now, we are into our second week of classes. The start of the semester is usually very busy with all sorts of different administrative work to do with getting all of the new students taken care of and such. I have quite a few projects slotted for the coming months and am looking forward to getting them done to improve things here on campus.

This semester I am also assisting one of the teachers here as his TA. I am not sure how much work over all it will be but I am looking forward to being more involved with the class side of things here. I am also finishing up a couple of my remaining classes for my degree as well. These won't involve much time wise as I will be able to petition for past work for some of the class requirements while doing a few of the assignments.

Over the last seven years I have been really blessed that through my church and a couple supporters my needs have always been met financially. I never had to formally seek to raise support as the Lord provided through them enough to meet my needs. Sometimes it wasn't enough but my parents have always been very supportive and helped me out when there were times of need. Looking back I am not sure if this was the right approach; if maybe I should have been seeking to raise more support as things could be tight at times. Yet I am reminded of the verse in Philippians 4:12 where Paul talks about having learned to be content no matter what his situation and I hope to be like this as well in my ministry. I feel that at this point in my ministry the Lord would have me share with my friends, family, and supporters about my needs.
Starting this year my home church is no longer able to support me on a monthly basis. This leaves me with a shortfall in my monthly support that I need to attempt to fill. When I first heard last year that my church wouldn't be able to support me I was worried, unsure if I would be able to continue in the ministry here. The Lord has given me a peace about this however. I know that if it is His desire for me to be here doing what I am doing He will provide exactly what He believes I need to do the ministry He has set in front of me. I need to remember that what I do here is not my ministry, it is His and He just gives me a chance to be a part of it, I am not called to do specific things but whatever it might be that He asks me to do. He doesn't call for great deeds but faithfulness.
I would ask that you would consider supporting me. If you believe that is something you would like to do I would challenge you to ask God about it. I don't want anyone supporting me because I have a need but rather because they believe that is what God wants them to do with what He has blessed them with. If you don't think this is what God has for you then I would ask you to please pray for me, that I would be patient and trust Him to provide for my needs through those He has in mind to do so. I will have information below for where support can be sent if you believe this is something God would have you to do.

This newsletter sure got long! Sorry to send you all so much to read in one update! I just have one last bit of news for you. Starting this year I am now on board with a sending agency out of Albuquerque, New Mexico by the name of 'Called Christians'. They will be handling my finiances from this point forward. They also get together on a monthly basis to pray for all of the missionaries that they have partnered with. It has already been a great partnership and I am looking forward to what the Lord has in store going forward with them as my sending agency.
in closing I just want to thank all of those who have been praying for me and supporting me, I will include some of my prayer requests below.
Blessings,
Jared Scheller
Prayer Requests:
- Wisdom in balancing my work schedule with my studies and other duties
- For being a TA for a class this semester and the work load involved with that
- Wisdom for some projects we are looking into doing that could involve a fair amount of planning but could possibly save us large amounts of time and streamline some of the administrative processes we have here at the college
- For finances, that I would through this time of uncertainty learn to draw closer to God, knowing that He will provide for my needs and to trust Him.
Praise Reports:
- That I had a safe and great time home visiting the church and family and friends
- For being able to get on with Called Christians as my sending agency
